Shorter is nearly always better. Replace these wordy phrases with their concise alternatives.

after the conclusion of = after
along the lines of = like
at the present time = now
despite the fact that = although
has been proved to be = is
if conditions are such that = if
in close proximity to = near
in the event that = if
in the near future = soon
in the neighborhood of = near, about, or nearly
in the vicinity of = near

 

You should also watch out for redundancies like these below. No need to repeat yourself twice! (Just kidding.)

advance planning = planning
biography of his life = biography
close proximity = close or near
exactly identical = identical
forward progress = progress
honest truth = truth
joint cooperation = cooperation
necessary requirement = requirement
